WATCHING GOD AT WORK

ree

This has been a fantastic year! Through the people that God has put in our path, we are regularly distributing encouragement bags in Colorado, Michigan, Wyoming, North Carolina, and New Jersey (in addition to individual orders we receive). Our average number of deliveries is 100 per month. God is taking these bags and is changing people’s lives by giving them hope where they thought there may be no hope. A recipient said, “After completing my daily reading of ’50 Days of Hope’ [the book in the bags for women and men], I just had to take a moment and let you know how much this little book has proved to be a source of encouragement to my heart. As with God’s ways, each day’s message speaks directly to whatever emotions or feelings I’m dealing with, especially ones that I might not have even been aware of. God has truly blessed me through her [the author] message and through your impactful ministry. Know that you were [are] making a difference.”

God is moving in ways (volume) and in places (states across the country) like I never thought possible. With the doors He is opening regarding distribution we are eagerly awaiting to see how God answers the questions of funding.

Our newest distribution channel is a cancer center in New Jersey. They came onboard with us when a friend of ours accompanied her brother to his chemotherapy appointment. Our friend gave the infusion manager two of the encouragement bags to show her what Be Still and Know is doing. This lady was touched by what we are doing and said the center would like to hand the bags out. After giving many of them away, she has let me know that her patients LOVE these gifts when they receive them. She told me that on average this cancer center is seeing 80 new cancer patients a month; we are providing bags for only half of these patients. The picture at top left shows some of the nurses in New Jersey who have been happily handing the bags out to give hope and encouragement.

“The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.” (Matthew 9:37) This is exciting work! Will you join us?

LOOKING BACK

ree

We have had an absolutely beautiful fall here in Colorado and have taken opportunities to get out and see some of the scenery. When I took this picture it reminded me that on some days in life our road ahead seems unclear. We all have fear of the unknown; unclear equates with scary.

When the path in life seems unclear it’s easy to become afraid. One way to fight this fear is to look back at all of the blessings and beautiful moments God has put into your life to get you to this point.

If you are able and fall colors by you aren’t gone yet, get out and enjoy the beauty God has placed in your life.

If you are required to make a distribution from your retirement account, did you know that you can use it to make a tax-free contribution to a qualified charity? Prayerfully consider if your unused retirement distribution might be used to make a tax-free donation to Be Still and Know Inc. and help offer encouragement to families impacted by cancer.

Approximate number of bags distributed to date: 3,180

If you know of someone who has been diagnosed with cancer, is under palliative/hospice care due to cancer, or you know of a caregiver who can use encouragement and you would like to send a bag, go to our website to place an order.
